Rusty fronts: Battle for the boiler
When waste is incinerated, the chlorine it contains vaporises. The boiler functions like a distillery and condenses the corrosive chlorine compounds. The presentation briefly shows the processes involved in combustion, the formation of deposits and corrosion under the deposits. Examples from the boiler on evaporator and superheater with the materials Alloy 625, Alloy 686, Alloy 31+ are shown, as well as the comparison of cladding made of Alloy 625 welded with arc and laser.

Es werden Cladding mit Lichtbogen und Laser, Spray & Fuse Coating, Galvanische Nickel-Dickschichten und Energetic Cladding beleuchtet. Auch mancher Korrosionsmechanismus ist nicht totzukriegen, so die wieder auftretende Sauerstoffmangelkorrosion.
